Pizza Hut to soon close hundreds of dine-in locations
By Sandy C.
Say it ain’t so! Pizza Hut is reportedly closing 500 dine-in locations soon, what is going on?
Pizza Hut fans need some answers! Learning that one of our favorite pizza joints is closing hundreds of stores across the US is very alarming. How will this affect you and which locations can you no longer count on? We gather all the details for you, below!
Here at Guilty Eats, we’re big Pizza Hut fans. Just earlier this month, we shared with our readers that many locations are testing out pick-up cubbies. A genius idea to avoid waiting in line, and it makes ordering to-go a lot more simple and quick.
It was also not too long ago that Pizza Hut brought back cheesy bites! And now reports are saying many locations are closing shops? What’s up? Don’t worry, it will all make sense soon…

As Food Business News breaks it, “500 older U.S. dine-in Pizza Hut restaurants could close as the chain increases its focus on delivery/carryout.” To put it in more blunt and simple terms: dine-in restaurants are just not working out for Pizza Hut (or many other pizza places) and delivery/carry out is the way to go nowadays.
I have to admit, I wasn’t even aware Pizza Hut had dine-in locations, did you? This explains why they are shutting down, not many people know about them. When it comes to pizza, we all really just want for the pizza to either come to us or for us to quickly drive and pick one up.
Pizza Hut testing out pick-up cubbies makes even more sense now. And if you did know about the dine-in restaurants, did you frequently stop by or not at all? We want to know from you, the consumer!
Until all locations close and Pizza Hut rebrands as delivery and carry out only, let’s sit back and enjoy a pizza! And hey, dine-in locations are open still (I think), why not stop by before they close? You can all tell your grandchildren someday about how there used to be dine-in pizza restaurants.
