KFC is looking to introduce the world to Beyond Meat chickenless nuggets

Forget the chicken nuggets next time you head to KFC. With the help of Beyond Meat, the restaurant chain is looking to introduce chickenless nuggets.

When KFC first opened its doors, it was known as Kentucky Fried Chicken. With the name of the meat people are expecting to eat right in the name, we all know that when we head to our local fast food chicken stop we are going to get amazing meals that all center around this delicious bird.

However, it looks like KFC is getting ready to try something new. According to Delish, the restaurant chain has announced that they are going to be offering chickenless nuggets with the help of Beyond Meat, the company that has introduced the world to a variety of meatless products that taste like the originals.

Considering how many people have decided to give Beyond Meat products a chance, it makes sense that even a restaurant like KFC would want to capitalize on the meatless craze. And with these new vegan fried chicken nuggets, fans of chicken nuggets who are looking to cut back on their meat intake are getting a new chance at deliciousness.

For now, these nuggets will only be available at one location and only for a limited amount of time. The menu item, which is being dubbed “Beyond Fried Chicken” will be available in Atlanta location starting on August 27.

It makes sense that KFC would start with more of a test market with these nuggets, considering we expect to get actual chicken when we hit up the restaurant for our lunches and dinner. Of course, there are actually two options available for order, with one being the nuggets and the second being a boneless chicken wing variety.

And just like with your typical wings and nuggets, you can choose any of their dipping sauces, including their Honey BBQ. These Beyond Fried Chicken options will come in either a six or a 12 count, which means if you end up loving them, you can always place an order for a full meal option.

While the fact that this is a limited release might seem like sad news for people interested in giving these new nuggets a try, have no fear as it looks like KFC is interested in a larger roll out once they get feedback from customers. As with any test product, it is all about getting it right before there is a nationwide release.

Are we surprised by the fact that KFC is partnering with Beyond Meat for chickenless nuggets? Not really, as this is more than just a trend. With fast food restaurants like Burger King already invested in the vegan option, it makes sense that other chains would want to try it for themselves.

Honestly, this sounds like a fascinating partnership and I can’t wait to see how these nuggets do with not only the test market, but vegans as well.
