For years, Little Debbie has given us perfect sweet treats to satisfy our sugar cravings. But what about the underrated Nutty Buddy.
Over the years, Little Debbie has proven that they know what our sweet tooth craves. From Swiss Rolls to Zebra Cakes, and even the Oatmeal Creme Pies, this bakery company has been able to produce the kind of treats that make us happy. But what about the Nutty Buddy?
Perhaps the most under appreciated sweet treat in the Little Debbie lineup, the Nutty Buddy, which used to be known as Nutty Bars, is like the forgotten stepchild of the family. We are talking Cinderella status here for this sweet but underrated treat.
At grocery stores, the Nutty Buddy boxes are usually relegated to lower shelves, if not the one right at ground level. And forget heading to the local school cafeteria. It’s like the one sugary treat some kids are actually ashamed to have in their lunch box. But for those of us who love these flavors and the crisp snap of the wafer under all that chocolate and peanut butter, we see you Nutty Buddy!

There is just something magical about the Nutty Buddy that cannot be ignored. Here is a treat that gives you the best of a Kit Kat bar and a Reese’s Peanut Butter Cup, in a size that actually satisfies our cravings for chocolate and peanut butter goodness.
Sure, Kit Kat and Reese’s have come out with their own chocolate and peanut butter covered wafer bars, but Nutty Buddy is the OG of this sweet treat offering. And the fact that it comes in a size that is actually satisfying makes it even more than just an original, it makes this snack bar a winner all around.
Honestly, I give some credit to both Kit Kat and Reese’s for reminding us about the magic of the wafer cookie drenched in peanut butter and chocolate. Thanks to them, it reminded me of the magical Nutty Buddy bars that have been around for years, standing in the shadows waiting for their day to come again.
Hopefully more people will remember the magic of these snack bars from Little Debbie. And if not, that’s okay too, as those of us who appreciate this underrated treat will continue to treat it like the princess it deserves to be.
