Elysian Brewing is ready for the fall with their newest releases, and in honor of the Pumpkin Spice craze, the brewery is giving us five beers to love, including a seasonal favorite.

From September 1 through October, it is officially the season of Pumpkin Spice everything. And while some companies may have already begun their push to bring Fall flavors to the masses, Elysian Brewing waited until the first day of September to bring their fans a collection of brews inspired by this seasonal flavor profile.

In select markets across the nation, Elysian Brewing fans can head to stores and pick up not only the breweries seasonal favorite, Night Owl Pumpkin Ale, but there are also four other brews to try to enjoy. And with names like The Great Pumpkin and the Dark Knife, these beers are not only ready to be Fall’s perfect brews, but they are also a lot of fun to talk about and drink.

Just like any brew coming to us from Elysian Brewing, every beer is brewed differently, giving it its own unique taste and feel. With the Night Owl, pumpkin spice fans can enjoy the fact that brewers use loads of pumpkin juice and puree to give them that decadent flavor. On top of the pumpkin, this brew also features allspice, cloves, ginger, nutmeg, and cinnamon. Basically think of this as pumpkin pie as a beer.

Of course, there is more than just the Night Owl to enjoy, as there are four other brews being offered to make Fall magical. And each beer really is a treat in a bottle (or can).

The Great Pumpkin is an Imperial Pumpkin Ale. And it features not only the pumpkin we expect, but also allspice, cloves, nutmeg, and cinnamon. (This means it has slightly less zing than the Night Owl, as there is no ginger in this brew.)

The Dark Knife is a Pumpkin Schwarzbier. And while it still has a bit of spice added to the mix, this time we are only looking at ginger and cinnamon to give it a little kick.

We also have the Pumkuccino, which is a Coffee Pumpkin Ale. So basically this is an after dinner refresher if there ever was one. Not only are there strong notes of coffee in this brew to go with the pumpkin, but the spices chose this time are nutmeg and cinnamon.

Finally, the fifth member of the Fall brew lineup is the Dark O’The Moon. This is a Pumpkin Stout that brings together pumpkin with a smooth chocolate flavor. Of course it is then spiced with cinnamon to give it that seasonal kick we want.

According to Elysian Brewing’s Head Brewer, Josh Waldman, “I understand that some consider Pumpkin Beers a guilty pleasure, but I don’t. Embrace the ‘guilty pleasure’ and enjoy beers that make you happy. When you’re faced with dozens of the best pumpkin beers from around the world every year at the Great Pumpkin Beer Festival (October 4th and 5th), the perspective shifts from ‘guilty pleasure’ to enjoyment and excitement at the real variety of pumpkin beer.”

As fans of all types of Guilty Eats, we appreciate what Waldman is saying. After all, there should never be any guilt when it comes to good food and drinks. Instead, it is about enjoying the flavors and experience overall.

With the help of Elysian Brewing, we can forget the guilt and just enjoy Fall and its many splendors. And this includes the flavor of pumpkin that prevails from the beginning of September until Thanksgiving wraps up.
