Pancake Bread from Trader Joe’s is breakfast worthy

At Trader Joe’s there are a lot of unique breads and treats. And when it comes to their Pancake Bread, it becomes a breakfast worthy treat.

Shopping at Trader Joe’s can be a tasty and unique experience, with so many things on the shelves, from baked goods to beverages, you are bound to find something new and tasty. And while every store has their hits and misses, there is something about the store’s new Pancake Bread that is actually both a hit and a miss.

The thing about the Pancake Bread is that while they describe it as tasting like fluffy buttermilk pancakes, at least with the loaf I tried, that flavor profile was definitely missing. However, just because it didn’t remind me of a stack of pancakes dripping in syrup, this bread is still a delicious treat.

Instead of thinking of this bread as being like pancakes, it actually reminded me more of a butter cake with brown sugar. And since we love these flavors anyway, it should come as no surprise that this loaf was still a winner in terms of being a sweet treat.

More from Snacks

Even if the Pancake Bread does not live up to its name, that doesn’t mean I wouldn’t recommend it or even get it again. In fact, this loaf was actually quite delicious as both a breakfast bite and a sweet midnight snack. I would hazard to say that Pancake Bread is more than just a worthy addition to your morning meal, it is truly breakfast worthy.

And I have to give credit to the brown sugar crumble on the top of the loaf for being one of the stars of this show. The added bit of sweet gives this bread an added layer of flavor that makes it truly decadent.

Now, I will say that this is not the easiest bite of bread I have ever eaten, as it is very crumbly. All those crumbs and bits of sugar topping seemed to get everywhere, and forget trying to be naughty and eating this in bed or in front of the TV, as you will need to break out the vacuum after digging into this bread.

Ultimately, Trader Joe’s Pancake Bread is definitely worth picking up, as long as you are not expecting bread that actually tastes like a stack of pancakes. This tasty treat is more than just a worthy addition to your breakfast lineup, it is a perfect sweet treat.
