Thirsty Thursday: Spindrift is the perfect mixer for cocktails and mocktails
There are a lot of sparkling waters on the market, but Spindrift might just be our favorite thanks to the use of real fruit. Which is why we think it’s the perfect mixer for both cocktails and mocktails.
When it comes to finding the perfect sparkling water, there are actually a lot of options to choose from on the market. And while there are plenty that have a great flavor and can be used in a variety of ways, one that has slowly worked its way up the list happens to be Spindrift.
The Spindrift line of sparkling waters feature real fruit to create intense flavors that pop in your mouth. And with a variety of 10 different waters to choose from, you really can’t go wrong snagging a can of these fruity sparklers.
While you can totally drink a can of Spindrift chilled and enjoy it the way the company intended, we also have to give these sparkling waters credit for being an excellent mixer in any number of cocktails and mocktails.
If you are looking to create some interesting drinks for a dinner party, in time for game day, or even just to relax at home, then you will want to give these mocktails and cocktails a try. Of course, you can always have some fun with these sparkling waters and create your own drinks menu as well, but at least with these recipes you get an idea of some easy and delicious mixed drinks crafted with the help of Spindrift.
For our cocktail lovers, we are going to start off with a Cranberry Raspberry Cosmo. For this drink you will need Cranberry Raspberry Spindrift, 10 raspberries, 10 cranberries, three ounces of vodka, two teaspoons of sugar, and ice. In a shaker, muddle together the sugar, cranberries, and raspberries. Then you will add in the vodka and ice before vigorously shaking. Strain your mix over ice into two glasses, then top both glasses with the Cranberry Raspberry Spindrift. For added flair and fun, garnish with some fresh cranberries and raspberries.
Next up we have a classic but simple Lemon Drop. For this drink you need a can of Spindrift Lemon, an ounce of lemon juice, and one and half ounces of your favorite vodka. In a shaker mix your vodka, lemon juice, and ice. Then pour this into a glass (it is suggested you use a coupe glass, but who just has one of those on hand?!) and top with the Spindrift Lemon. As a garnish you can totally use a thin slice of lemon.
Now, for our mocktail fans (or those of us who maybe can’t indulge in a drink), we have two more drinks to make that will let your Spindrift shine. And while we may only be sharing two cocktail and two mocktail recipes, there are plenty of ways you can utilize this sparkling water as a mixer.
Up first in the mocktails we have the Blackberry ‘Bucha Breeze. This one is for you Kombucha lovers, as this mocktail utilizes a ginger lemon Kombucha, Blackberry Spindrift, and ice. In a glass, you are going to layer ice and Kombucha, then top it off with the Blackberry Spindrift. As a garnish, we recommend mint and either a thin slice of lemon or even a fresh blackberry.
For our second mocktail, we are going with the Sparkling Strawberry Basil Lemonade. To create this drink you will need either the Strawberry or the Lemon Spindrift (it just depends on which flavor you want to pop for this mocktail). You will also need half of a lemon, fresh basil, strawberries, two teaspoons of sugar, and ice.
To put this drink together, squeeze the lemon into the bottom of a glass, then top that with the sugar, three leaves of basil, and eight sliced strawberries. Muddle this all together and then strain it over a glass of ice. From there you are going to top it with the Spindrift flavor of your choice (if you want more of a berry punch go with the Strawberry Spindrift, and if you love lemon then go with the Lemon Spindrift). Then garnish with a strawberry and enjoy.
With these four drinks at your disposal, you can see that Spindrift is more than just a delicious and refreshing sparkling water, it is the perfect mixer for your next dinner party and beyond. And considering the pop of flavor that these waters offer, you know your cocktails and mocktails will win over even the most critical drinker, especially on a Thirsty Thursday.
Do you have any cocktail or mocktail recipes that would work with the different flavors of sparkling water that Spindrift offers? Have you tried Spindrift before? What did you think? Tell us your thoughts in the comments.
