A look at Goldbelly’s past, present and future with Shake Shack
Let’s have a look at how the popular and growing fast casual food establishment Shake Shack is working with what Time Magazine has called “one of the 50 best websites in America.”
Widely praised by Time, Fox News, Departures, Good Morning America, Bloomberg and Fast Company alike, Goldbelly is on a mission to “discover America’s most loved regional foods” and then “ship ’em to your door.” In turn, Goldbelly is a hub for ordering fine steaks, seafood, pizzas, desserts, soups and gluttonous comfort food alike. And one of Goldbelly’s newest partnerships is with Shake Shack, the growing burger-and-shake-centric chain founded by restauranteur Danny Meyer is 2001.
Due to the current COVID-19 pandemic, in which hundreds of millions of people — if not billions of people — are presently spending their days and nights cooped up indoors, Goldbelly makes it easy to sample some of America’s finest fare while at home.
Beyond already selling Shake Shack menu items to U.S. customers, the partnership between Goldbelly and Shake Shack is rooted in Goldbelly to launch ShackBurger meal kits. These ready-to-cook boxes are available for nationwide shipping and contain all the ingredients needed in order to recreate the chain’s signature burger at home; those ingredients of course being cheese, buns and Shake Shack sauce.

This announcement first hit the public as part of Shake Shack’s April 2, 2020 update to investors Within a COVID-19-related statement, Randy Garutti, CEO of Shake Shack, stated:
"“Over the last two weeks, as mandated shutdowns and stay-at-home orders have gone into place across the country, sales at all Shacks have been dramatically reduced.Compared to last year, excluding Shacks that are temporarily closed, sales across our domestic company-operated shacks are currently down between 50% and 90%, averaging down approximately 70% in total.”"
Danny Meyer had previously been associated with Goldbelly, as he had reportedly invested “$20 million via the Union Square Hospitality Group’s fund Enlightened Hospitality Investments in a series B round of funding” into the site. Goldbelly, as launched in 2013 by Joe Ariel, had Meyer as a customer early on.
As written about for Guilty Eats earlier this week, Goldbelly is a hub for top-tier restaurants and food establishments of all popular cuisines. In turn, it is indeed possible to enjoy a freshly-heated appetizer from Nashville’s Loveless Cafe, a kit-assembled burger from Shake Shack, a thick slice of pizza from Bartolini’s Deep Dish Chicago Pizza and a cake-flavored donut from Stan’s Donuts all in the same meal.
