Arguably the world’s top movie star for close to a decade, Dwayne Johnson, also known as The Rock, is one of those people who seems like he can do everything well. The former professional wrestling champion has also found success as an author, a producer and an entrepreneur, while regularly turning out must-see social media content.
On the entrepreneurial end, Dwayne Johnson is the founder of Teremana, a popular small batch tequila label. Teremana’s wares are crafted in a small town within Mexico’s Jalisco Highlands, and distilled in handmade copper pot stills. Produced at a family-owned distillery, Teramana is also serious about sustainability, turning 100 percent of its leftover agave fibers from production into natural compost which serves as organic fertilized for its agave fields. Its Blanco and Reposado varieties may be craft-oriented, but they also can be found via major retailers around the world.

Indeed a fan of his own tequila, Dwayne Johnson recently unveiled what he has called “the official drink of the summer.” Posted on the Instagram account of Teremana — and also shared on his personal Instagram account — said adult beverage has been dubbed the “Watermelon Manarita.” Drink preparation is shown on IG, but the only ingredients required are Teremana Blanco, fresh watermelon, lime juice, and agave nectar.
While Dwayne Johnson always seems to have a big smile on his smile, he appears to be well-aware of how tough 2020 has been for the majority of folks. In a statement attributed to him via Teremana’s social media: “Considering the year we’ve already had, here’s to better and brighter days ahead. You deserve it!” Thus, the Watermelon Manarita is aimed to be simultaneously optimistic, celebratory, delicious and low-carb.
Should the Manarita not be enough Teremana for you, the spirit’s official website is full of recipes for all sorts of moods and taste. “The People’s Margarita” pays homage to Johnson’s WWE roots as “The People’s Champion.” “The Teremana Colada” ought to be ideal for some poolside-sitting, while the “Bloody Maria” is indeed brunch-friendly.
