Sugar Rush dedicates the episode Naya Rivera judged to the late actress

On July 31, the third season of Sugar Rush is set to begin streaming on Netflix. And in what is believed to be her last TV appearance, Naya Rivera is set to appear on the series as a guest judge.

According to Deadline, Netflix and Sugar Rush have dedicated the episode that Rivera judged to the late actress.

News of Sugar Rush‘s third season and when it would premiere was first announced on June 24, prior to Naya Rivera going missing and subsequent drowning. And in light of that tragedy, Netflix was left with a decision to make in regards to the footage they had of the late actress. The question was if it was the right thing to do to release the episode that she filmed back in February.

Netflix and Sugar Rush are honoring Naya Rivera with her guest judge episode

After speaking to the late actress’ manager, who has apparently been working with the family since the tragedy, the decision was made to air the episode as it was intended. This is an effort to honor the work that Rivera did prior to her tragic death.

To honor the actress, the streaming service is putting a note on the screen prior to the credits coming up for the episode. This note is a dedication to Naya Rivera for the work she did not only on the show, but in general.

By airing this episode it also means that fans of the late actress will get to see her on their screens one more time if they tune in to the third season of Sugar Rush on Netflix. While it will be sad to see Rivera on our screens, it is also a nice way to say goodbye to the actress.
