The Great British Bake Off has wrapped their newest season
With lots of shows just coming back after taking a break from filming due to the pandemic, The Great British Bake Off is already finished filming their new season. They began secretly filming the new season in late July with a whole new location and multiple precautions to ensure everyone was safe.
Now, they’ve wrapped filming, picked a winner, and hopefully, that means we get new episodes sooner rather than later. If there was ever a time we needed a new season of The Great British Bake Off, it’s now. We need happy, friendly contestants and cake like never before. Most likely, this means the U.K. will get a new season this year, while the U.S. will have to wait for it to come to Netflix early next year.

According to what one of the creative directors at Love Productions that produces The Great British Bake Off told BroadcastNow (and was reported on by DigitalSpy), it was not easy to film this season and keep everyone healthy and safe.
The new season of The Great British Bake Off filmed for six weeks in an undisclosed location
They not only had to find a new location to shoot at, they also had to find a place to house 120 people so that they could all quarantine before filming even started. Then everyone needed to get tested. Only after that could they start the six weeks of filming.

We still don’t know where they plopped the big white tent for this new season, but hopefully, we’ll find out more details soon. This season is the first for new host, Matt Lucas, and if nothing else, it will be interesting to see how he fits in with Noel, Paul, Prue, and the latest batch of contestants.
