Rating the final bakers on The Great British Baking Show
The finale of The Great British Baking Show airs on Netflix on Friday, Nov 27. How is this season already over? It’s definitely been one to remember and not for anything good. There’s been messes, failures, and breakdowns all over, but there have also been some truly amazing bakes and some of them have come from the final three who will bake their hearts out in the final challenges.
First, there’s Laura. She has definitely struggled throughout the entire season. She’s been great on her flavors, but the judges have commented on the less-than-pristine look of her final products.

Last week showed that really well. For the showstopper challenge, her station was covered in melted chocolate and her cube cake was a mess. But, according to Paul and Prue, it tasted fantastic. We’ll have to see if she delivers both aesthetics and taste in the finale.
Laura, Dave, and Peter will be competing in the finale of The Great British Baking Show
Next is Dave. Dave has definitely been a bit of a silent contestant. He stayed in the middle, unnoticed, for a good portion of this season. He’d do good and then awful, but not as bad as others so he stayed around.
I think I first really took notice of him during Japanese week (which was quite the disaster). He made an incredibly cute dog cake that really showed off his skills. I will be shocked if he wins, but at this stage, who knows?
Finally, there’s Peter. He started off making only gluten-free desserts and really showed his ability to make delicious and gorgeous bakes. He did hit a snag in the last couple of weeks. His pristine presentation went by the wayside.
Luckily, with encouragement from the judges, he redeemed himself during patisserie week and blew the other contestants out of the water with his raspberry, pistachio, and chocolate cube cake. He’s my choice to win. He’s shown he can do incredible things under an immense amount of pressure.
