Tasty Thursday: Alex’s Awesome Sourdough is our new favorite

This Tasty Thursday goes to Alex’s Awesome Sourdough, and it was no contest! Here’s why we love the frozen pizza brand.

Earlier last month, a package containing Alex’s Awesome Sourdough arrive at my door. Now, in all honesty, when I accepted to give the frozen pizza brand a try, I was a bit skeptical.

Don’t get me wrong, I’m a fan of several healthy and better-for-you-brands! But this is Guilty Eats, so I’m a little biased. Did I think Alex’s Awesome Sourdough was going to be bad? Not at all! Did I think it would be good, but with an obvious “healthy” taste to it (you know what I’m talking about)? Yes!

Well, I couldn’t have been more wrong! And, sometimes, at least when it comes to food, I enjoy being wrong.

Alex’s Awesome Sourdough is our new favorite

Alex’s Awesome Sourdough is the first sourdough based frozen pizza brand. I learned from the press notes that the brand’s “sourdough is naturally fermented, which makes it gut-friendly, increases the bioavailable nutrients in the dough, and lowers its glycemic index.”

The current three flavors available are mushroom, sunflower pesto, and mozzarella. Guys, the mozzarella pizza will blow you away. I’m not even joking, this is the best cheese pizza I have ever had. Coming out of the oven, it doesn’t even taste or look like it was ever frozen, which I can’t say about any other frozen pizza brand.

Sunflower Pesto is a delight! And I have never been a fan of mushroom pizza until now. If you are searching for a new pizza brand or stocking up on some food, you need to give Alex’s Awesome Sourdough a try!
