Now, when it comes to matcha, there are two kinds of people, those who love it and those who don’t. There’s really no in-between, whether it’s a matcha beverage from your local shop or from Starbucks.
When enjoying a drink that is supposed to be a better-for-you-beverage, it helps if it’s delicious, which is why we all love matcha from Starbucks. But how healthy is this drink?
Matcha beverages are fun for several reasons. For starters, they are colorful and make for great Instagram posts! But what we care most about is — is it any good? After all, no one wants to spend good money just for a quick social media snap.
According to Healthline, some of the benefits of drinking match include “boosting kidney, liver, and heart health, lowering blood sugar.” Not to mention, all the antioxidants it provides.
Who can say no to that? Especially when it’s tasty (or at least according to most people).
Are matcha drinks from Starbucks good for you?
However, does this apply to matcha from Starbucks? According to mashed, it’s not as good for you as you may have believed.
The source shares that Starbucks adds “a lot of sneaky sugar” into their matcha drinks to help balance the flavor.

If you look at the drink’s nutritional information, you’ll find that a grande drink contains 32 grams of sugar.
