PB2 is the protein powder that is perfect for baking or shaking

BEIJING, CHINA - 2008/09/19: Dairy products for sale in a Beijing supermarket. Four children have died in China and nearly 53,000 have been sickened by milk powder contaminated by an industrial chemical. The scandal stems from the practice of adding industrial chemical melamine, normally used to make plastics, to watered-down milk to boost apparent protein levels, which is causing kidney stones and agonizing complications. China's food quality watchdog found melamine in nearly 10 percent of milk and drinking yoghurt samples from three major dairy companies: Mengniu Dairy Co, the Inner Mongolia Yili Industrial Group and the Bright group. Are you looking for a new way to add protein to your diet? Then you need some PB2 in your life (and in your baking routine).

Honestly, when it comes to Guilty Eats, we don’t often think of protein powder. And that’s okay. But sometimes we need to add in the good stuff. And what could be better than PB2 protein powder.

I had the chance to try the PB2 Performance -Almond Protein with Madagascar Vanilla. And let me just say that I was shocked. Just opening the container was a revelation, as it smelled amazing. I mean I was thinking of just throwing together a milkshake with this stuff (forget being healthy). But the reality is that this is so much more than a perfect addition to a shake or a smoothie.

PB2 Protein Powder is a versatile ingredient in a wide range of applications

In fact, I ended up using this protein powder in my baking. I baked up a batch of Oat Bran Muffins and Dried Cherry and Oat Bran Muffins, and used the protein powder as a partial substitute for the flour in the recipe. In my case, the recipe wanted a cup and a half of flour and instead I did one and a quarter cups of flour with a quarter cup of the PB2 Almond Protein Powder.

Not only did you get hints of the almond and vanilla in the final product, but it actually did bake well. But that wasn’t the only way I used this product. It also ended up in a few different smoothies.

I will say that I prefer the baking application, but that has a lot more to do with the fact that I am picky about my smoothies than anything else. Every time the powder was added it was tasty and filling, but for me this powder was a perfect addition to my muffins, making this product great for the baking and the shaking (or is it the smoothing if it is a smoothie?).

Next. Starbucks will let us bring our own mugs again starting in late June. dark

Even if you are looking for something other than an almond protein powder, PB2 has you covered, as they also have peanut protein, powdered peanut butter, and even a powdered almond butter. And yes, every bit of this seems like the perfect addition to our baking cabinets.
