Independence Day has come and gone, and on July 5 it is all about recovery and rehydrating. And that’s where Smartwater comes in.

In honor of the very first Rehydration Day, Smartwater is hoping to inspire people to drink more water. (Considering how much other stuff we drank on the Fourth of July – beer, sangria, wine, cocktails, soda, and more – it makes sense that we need some actual water in our lives the day after!)

So what exactly is Smartwater doing to rehydrate us all? They are dropping Smartwater kegs of course!

Smartwater celebrates hydration with kegs of water in California and New York on July 5

With the help of SNL’s Pete Davidson, Smartwater is hoping to inspire people to rehydrate themselves not only today, but all year long. With all of this in mind, the company is hosting a pop up event on Jones Beach out on Long Island, New York, as well as at the Santa Monica Pier in Los Angeles, California.

At this pop up event, you can get your hands on a keg of water! But that’s not all, as this pop up will include activities you can do, photo opportunities and more. This is a chance to enjoy a little more after Independence Day fun, but with the added bonus of healthy rehydration.

According to Pete Davidson,

"Let’s be honest – this summer is a wild one, and I’m here for it. But I’m also going to keep living smart and staying hydrated, making my pee as clear as possible on rehydration day, and you should too. Which is why I’m so stoked about working with smartwater."

And while this event might only be taking place on July 5, that doesn’t mean we shouldn’t be drinking more water anyway. In fact, summer is the best time to stay hydrated considering so many of us find ourselves outside in the sun and heat more often (whether for work or fun).

Over the years, Smartwater has proven that they have what we want to sip on when it comes to bottled water. And yet, they keep finding ways to be innovative and connected. From offering flavored waters in their plus line, to this new water keg idea, it seems like they know what we want and need to keep sipping water every day.

With this day of rehydration, we can’t help but want the Smartwater keg to find its way to more cities and states over the course of the summer.
