7 cookies you should make sure to pack for back to school lunch
Sometimes the kids aren’t always easy to please when it comes to food; especially those picky eaters in the house. So which cookies are the absolute best that will please everyone in your household—and yes even the pickiest of eaters?
We’ve compiled a list of the 7 absolute best cookies, and trust me, friends and readers, with these 7 cookies that are bursting with flavor and tasty ingredients, you cannot go wrong.
Here are 7 cookies you’ll definitely want to have in the cupboard when packing your kids’ lunches when they go back to school
Chocolate Chip Bear Paws by Dare
Chocolate chip cookies are definitely run of the mill. You can find any brand and any brand will do, I guess. But why settle for what will simply just do? Why not search for the absolute best?
You’ll find that here, and you won’t get that crumbly cookie feel. Here the cookies are doughy, sweetened naturally and tasty as ever.
Maple Leaf Cream Cookies by Leclerc
Get the taste of Maple Syrup in a cookie—authentic Maple Syrup. There are many companies that make this type of cookie, but I tell you, and I know my cookies, people, that Leclerc certainly makes the absolute best Maple Cream Cookies. The center is just creamier, the cookies themselves are actually that much more buttery, and overall the Maple experience is just simply better with this brand.
Now, I’m fully aware that this Québec, Canada brand is and will be hard to find for some of you, but that’s definitely what Amazon was created for. Oh yeah and the ordering of almost any other product in the world…even books perhaps by yours truly.
Oreos (Christie)
Perhaps this will be the shortest entry in the piece and for very good reason: Because nobody needs to tell you how great this legendary cookie is. You already know as much.
Instead, how about a wee bit of trivia?
Did you know that they were created in 1912? Did you know that over 120,000 tons of the cream used to make Oreos is produced each year? Also…did you know that more than 500 billion Oreos have been sold?!
Perhaps these facts in the form of questions prove my former point.
Pirate Oatmeal Peanut Butter Cookies by Christie
Peanut butter cookies are risky; especially if your kids or anyone they hang out with has an allergy. If that’s the case, then don’t touch these with a ten foot pole, people. But if all systems go….you and the peanut butter lovers in the house will definitely enjoy these little numbers thoroughly.
Sun Maid Oatmeal Raisin/Apple Cookies (Bite Size)
Oatmeal Raisin cookies are a must. Yeah, they’re healthy, but what’s wrong with that? These days, some teachers and school administrators are actually banning unhealthy food overall.
This was the case for my niece and nephew. When my sister told me that she was told by the school’s administration that all junk food related snacks were out and forbidden entry, I couldn’t’ believe it.
But here, you’ve got oats, dried fruit, and the addition of apples just adds that necessary kick to an already great cookie. And they’re bite-size, which is always good for little ones on the go.
Doesn’t it seem like they’re always on the go…off to something important…off to a game, or a play date…or eventually old age? Why are they in such a rush? What happened to playing baseball in the park until your dad had to come looking for you? What happened to hiking around your dad’s small town in Italy, losing yourself in the fun that it was to just be a kid without any worries on earth?
Kids…slow it down and enjoy your youth. As it says in the Pearl Jam song, “Not For You”: “Restless soul, enjoy your youth…”
Christie Original Fudgee-O Cookies
Chocolate overload? I say: “Welcome to chocolate city, folks…where everything is made of chocolate.”
Here, unlike with the Oreos, there isn’t a white cream center. Here, everything is chocolate, and I’m certainly loving every bite; the definitive cookie for anyone that loves everything chocolate.
If you can’t find them where you are, as is probably the case for the Leclerc Maple Cookies mentioned above…you can definitely find them online and if I were you, I’d order a box. Heck…why not order five?
Teddy Grahams by Christie (Honey)
And very much like Winnie-The-Pooh himself, you’ve gotta go with honey. I mean, hey…there’s nothing wrong with chocolate, but honey just takes these to another level altogether.
When I was a kid, I used to love to eat these like cereal. My mom would just put them in a bowl and pour milk over them. Now talk about an epic snack.
But for any little one out there, these are perfect for taking out on an expedition in the forest behind the house, uncovering whatever magical kingdoms there are to be unearthed.
And who’s to say our little explorers can’t go along, making said discoveries all the while munching on some golden Teddy Grahams they’ve hid in their pocket?
Ah…to be a kid again.
