Wendy’s debuts new Big Bacon Cheddar Chicken Sandwich

So we all remember the Great Chicken Sandwich Wars, right? It felt like every week some fast food chain was introducing a new take on the classic chicken sandwich in an attempt to gain a slight edge. Burger King, Sonic, and specifically Wendy’s all took a swing at chicken sandwich supremacy.

The last time Wendy’s took a shot in the conflict was with the Jalapeno Popper Chicken Sandwich, which brought all kinds of heat. However, now it seems Wendy’s has decided to keep things very simple for their next attempt to convince you their chicken sandwiches are the best.

How are they doing that? By giving you more of two things that almost no fast food fan can resist. Two ingredients that will improve almost any sandwich and that you can really never have enough of if we’re being honest with ourselves.

Those two ingredients would be cheese and bacon. Mmmm … bacon.

As reported by those bacon lovers at Chewboom, Wendy’s is introducing the new Big Bacon Cheddar Chicken Sandwich which brings even more cheese and bacon to the party. And not only that, but it comes in three different varieties for you to try.

The Wendy’s Big Bacon Cheddar Chicken Sandwich will only be around for a limited time.

The Original Big Bacon Cheddar Chicken Sandwich includes a breaded chicken breast that has been slathered in creamy cheddar cheese and bacon jam. Then it is topped with smoked bacon, onions and American cheese all piled on a toasted cheddar bun.

The Spicy Big Bacon Cheddar Chicken Sandwich includes all of the above except the chicken breast has been marinated in a blend of peppers and spices to give it some extra kick. Meanwhile, the Grilled Big Bacon Cheddar Chicken Sandwich also includes everything on the Original except the instead of breaded and fried the chicken breast is marinated in herbs and grilled.

If you ask me, any of those sound like a winner in my book. But then, Wendy’s pretty much had us at “Bacon” and “Cheddar” in the sandwich name.

All three versions of the Big Bacon Cheddar Chicken Sandwich are currently available at a Wendy’s near you, but will only be there for a limited time. So get one while you can and enjoy the cheddar bacon overload.
