As many people around the country are enjoying the last long weekend of the summer, others are still keeping it business as usual and working on the holiday. Labor Day is tomorrow, Monday, September 6, and if you’re a frequent in-person shopper, you might be wondering what stores are open and what spots are closed.
Though this holiday honors workers across America, that doesn’t mean everyone has the day off or that all businesses are closed. Unlike other holidays such as Christmas Day and Thanksgiving, Labor Day doesn’t typically see big chains reducing any hours. Most fast food restaurants such as Wendy’s, KFC, and Popeyes will remain open on September 6 this year, and so will most retail stores.
Is Target closed on Labor Day 2021?
If you need to head out on a quick Target run on September 6, no need to worry. The retail company will remain open on the holiday, with NJ.com reporting that their hours on Labor Day are set as 8:00 a.m. to 10:00 p.m. Of course, be sure to check in with your local Target to confirm these hours. They might vary by location. That said, because the store is a major corporation, all stores should be open on the holiday.
It’s a safe bet to assume most popular retailers will be open on Labor Day this year, although USA Today reports that Costco will be closed. If you’re planning to shop at a small business, be sure to check in with them first to confirm whether or not they’re open.
Though celebrating holidays look different nowadays amid the COVID-19 pandemic, we hope you can enjoy the long weekend and perhaps pick up a few party supplies or barbeque items from Target on Labor Day!
