Need some inspiration for last minute ideas this Easter? From breakfast to dinner, Smithfield has us covered with the perfect meats. Whether we are talking about their breakfast sausage, bacon, or their spiral hams, Smithfield delivers the quality that makes every holiday meal a delight.
For us, The Smithfield Spirals Hickory Smoked Sliced Ham is the kind of centerpiece to a meal that is hard to look past. And we are so thankful to have this as our entree of choice this Easter. With the glaze being included in a separate pack that comes with our foil wrapped ham, we can make this a meal to remember without over doing it.
And while these hams tend to be even more than a family of three can handle, the leftovers give us plenty of options too. So even after the Easter festivities are over, we can use the leftover ham in a variety of dishes. Think pea soup, ham and swiss paninis, and even a ham and cheese casserole, all created with the leftovers of our Smithfield ham.
But that’s not all we plan to enjoy this Easter! Thanks to the recipe section of the Smithfield website, we are also making sure that even our veggies are getting a glow up this Easter.
Smithfield is inspiring our Easter feasts this year
Although it is considered a tailgate recipe, we are pretty excited to whip up our own take on the Cheesy Bacon Asparagus Roll! Considering it is as easy as wrapping asparagus with cheese and a slice of bacon and baking this up in the oven, we can’t help but want to make this a part of our Easter feast.
And while we may have taken inspiration from their recipe, we are changing things up a bit! Here is our take on the Smithfield Cheesy Bacon Asparagus Rolls:
- Smithfield Hometown Original Thick Cut Bacon
- Asparagus Spears
- Cream Cheese
Take your fresh spears of asparagus and cut off about half an inch off the bottom of the spear. Spread some cream cheese down the spear (this can get messy and we like to make sure there is more cream cheese over less). Next, wrap the bacon around the cream cheese coated asparagus.
Lay the rolls out on a foil lined baking sheet and bake at 350 degrees for 25 minutes.
If you want to fry them up like the tailgating recipe, that is also an option, although you may want to follow their recipe for a deep fry. And if you have an air fryer, you can still give our take on the recipe a try.
We have a Ninja Foodie 2-Basket Air Fryer that we are using that lets us fry up these bacon wrapped cream cheese coated asparagus spears for an entirely different take on a favorite. And yes, we are loving both the bacon and the Ninja air fryer!
