New MTN DEW OVERDRIVE debuts at Casey’s
By Nancy West
MTN DEW keeps rolling out new flavors. I recently wrote about the recent release of Purple Thunder at Circle K convenience stores and the limited time return of MTN DEW Typhoon, available online-only to Dew HQ members. Summer hasn’t even officially started yet and the company announced another new flavor launch! Fans, get ready for MTN DEW OVERDRIVE.
The latest new flavor is another collaboration. This time, MTN DEW has partnered with Casey’s. Casey’s is a convenience store and pizza chain with more than 2,400 locations in the Midwest. The chain sells pizza, wings, sandwiches and, starting this month, will be the exclusive seller of MTN DEW OVERDRIVE. Sadly, this means that many of us not living in the Heartland will miss out on sampling this exciting new beverage.
As noted in a recent press release, MTN DEW OVERDRIVE is said to have a “refreshing citrus punch taste with hints of mango, raspberry and lime flavors.” It is sold as a fountain drink and in 20 oz bottles. A new flavor means new brand characters. Purple Thunder has plum and blackberry bikers gracing its bottle. MTN DEW OVERDRIVE debuts the water skiing Benny the Bearalope on its soda bottle labels. There are hints that you might catch the “real” Benny at your local Casey’s or performing waterskiing tricks on the lake throughout the summer, so keep your eyes out!
New MTN DEW OVERDRIVE is available only at Casey’s convenience stores
Speaking of labels, Casey’s fans should look for hidden items that are interwoven into the label design that pay homage to the convenience store. They’ve already revealed that there’s a rooster weathervane necklace and a barn-shaped buoy. If you find any other hidden items, Casey’s wants you to share on social media and tag them.
Scott Henzi, Commercial Senior Vice President at PepsiCo Beverages North America, Central Division notes in the press release: “We love how much MTN DEW and Casey’s fans crave outdoor adventures, so we created this unique and flavorful MTN DEW drink to fuel those experiences.” This may be THE beverage to pack along on your beach and camping trips, hikes and other summer adventures. For those in the Midwest, I’m looking forward to reading your reviews of MTN DEW OVERDRIVE.
Guilty Eaters, what’s your favorite flavor of MTN DEW? Do you live in the Midwest and will be able to sample new MTN DEW OVERDRIVE?
