If you’ve ever ordered on the McDonald’s app ahead of time, but still hate that you have to wait in the normal drive thru lines just to get your food? Hopefully, that problem will be solved (soon that is) because thanks to Fort Worth, Texas, a brand new restaurant concept is being tested at a local McDonald’s.

They’re talking about making a separate line that is convenient for online orders to help you get your food faster without having to wait in line with other people that are ordering in person.

Let’s learn more about McDonald’s new on-the-go restaurant concept to come!

For over 45 years, we’ve basically only seen the standard drive-thru lines at just about any and all fast food places. Now, as the world is constantly changing, McDonald’s is trying out a new concept that will hopefully help those that are more on-the-go or in more of a hurry.

It’s called the Order Ahead Lane. Basically what this is, is customers will receive their orders via a food and/or beverage conveyor belt. This is super ideal for those that place online orders and wanna skip the regular drive-thru line waits (trust us, McDonald’s is notorious for long lines).

The Order Ahead Lane isn’t the only thing that’s being tested in this brand new restaurant concept. Fort Worth is also testing things out like, according to a report, “…including smaller dining rooms, ordering kiosks, dedicated parking spaces for curbside pickup and delivery drivers, a pick-up shelf for outside orders, and a delivery pick-up room for couriers.”

This will allow McDonald’s to serve their customers in more innovative and updated ways. It will (hopefully speaking) allow for faster service and be much more convenient for those that truly order when they’re on-the-go and headed to sports practice or just getting off of work and picking up dinner for their family.
