OREO is rewarding early holiday decorators with an HOA!

Now that all of your Halloween candy has been given out to the local trick-or-treaters, is it too early to start decorating for the year-end holidays?! OREO doesn’t think so and is even encouraging their fans to get their lights and decorations up early this year…..like before Thanksgiving early! If you are a go-getter and love spreading holiday cheer, then keep reading.

According to psychologists, people who decorate earlier tend to be happier. The physical act of decorating can spike your dopamine levels. The bright colorful lights and decorations can also increase positive feelings and OREO wants to encourage all their fans to experience maximum happiness! This year they have introduced the Holiday OREO Allowance (HOA).

The company wants fans to decorate before Thanksgiving and post pics of their festive exteriors. 100 lucky participants will win $1,000 each in prizes. In a press release that was shared with Guilty Eats, Vishnu Nair, Senior Brand Manager at the OREO brand noted:  “The OREO brand is always looking to help our fans and their families create playful connections, and there’s no season that brings people together more than the holidays – so why restrict the merriment by waiting until after Thanksgiving to decorate? With the Holiday OREO Allowance, we are calling on our most festive fans to join us in bringing the magic of the season to life extra early this year.”

So how can you win? Go dig out your lights, your inflatable snowmen and the blinking stars that you have stored in your basement. Get decorating and make the exterior of your house festive and bright. Snap a pic of your best work and then share it on Instagram or X (and be sure to follow @Oreo!) using the hashtags #HolidayOREOAllowance and #OREOSweepstakes in your post caption. This sweepstakes is taking place from November 1 through November 17.

100 Winners are selected at random. Each will receive a $1,000 “allowance” as well as OREO cookies (to share with friends and family) and a yard sign to show off their HOA winner status! The press release noted that “The brand recommends winners use the prize or “allowance” to continue spreading holiday cheer and creating neighborly connections throughout their communities all season long.”
