Summer is saved thanks to the Drumstick Slurpee Blue Raspberry Vanilla Cone

Because just squirting Slurpees into an ice cream cone wasn’t doing it anymore.

Tired of bringing your own ice cream cone to 7-Eleven, squeezing a Blue Raspberry Slurpee into it, and having it pour all over the place and taste kind of weird and gross? First of all, stop doing that entirely. And second of all, maybe pick up one of the brand new Drumstick Slurpee Blue Raspberry Vanilla Cones instead.

"We couldn't be more excited to team up with 7-Eleven to introduce this one-of-a-kind and mouthwateringly delicious snack to our fans," said Kerry Hopkins, Marketing Director for Drumstick via press release. "Because, let's face it, summer is all about embracing the unexpected, and what better way to do so than with a limited-edition collaboration that promises to delight and surprise with every bite?"

If you couldn’t tell from the name, this is your classic Drumstick King Cone, with a twist. Literally, because Slurpees, like, twist into the cup or whatever. Okay maybe not literally. Figuratively. But rather than the mix of vanilla soft serve, cone, and chocolate on top, this cone has a blue raspberry layer, then it’s topped with what the brands are calling blue razz sauce ripples, and that’s all followed by candy bits. What flavor candy bits? Probably not butterscotch like in the Grandma McFlurry, but TBD.

"Our iconic Slurpee drinks are a staple of summer, and we're always looking for new ways to surprise and delight our fans during this time of year," added Jasmeet Chawla, Senior Vice President, Merchandising at 7-Eleven (Center of Store and Services). "By joining forces with another summer icon, Drumstick, we're taking refreshment to the next level by combining the coolness of Slurpee drinks with the indulgence of Drumstick cones for a snack unlike anything our fans have had before!"

Look, full disclosure here: Blue Raspberry is not my favorite flavor of Slurpee. My son loves it, so I will be stopping by 7-Eleven to get one of these for him ASAP. And true to form, I’m sure he’ll have three bites, say it’s delicious, and then say he got full and doesn’t want anymore. Look, he doesn’t eat a lot, what can I say?

I’ve also been iffy about Blue Raspberry ice cream in the past – Baskin-Robbins’ recent experiments in that direction did not quite work, imo. But I’m always willing to try something new, as long as it comes from a mass market producer or fast food chain. Locally sourced food? Yuck!

Unlike your regular Drumstick cone, you can’t snag this one in the freezer aisle of your grocery store. Instead, it’s only available at 7-Eleven, Speedway, and Stripes stores while supplies last.
