McDonald’s Happy Meal changes, will they make it across the Atlantic?

McDonald’s UK announces new healthy McDonald’s Happy Meal options, but when will it hit the United States?
You might not have a kid in your life, but the new McDonald’s Happy Meal changes might make you re-think how you order next time. McDonald’s locations throughout Ireland and the UK have changed their Happy Meals to make them healthier for the little ones (and those of us who still really want a toy with our meal).
The Fast food chained partnered with Mumsnet to create a wrap that can be used for Happy Meals according to Metro.co.uk. There are two options, grilled or fried chicken.

"“The majority of Mumsnet users that we surveyed said they wanted grilled chicken and the opportunity give their children a range of choices in what they eat, and that’s exactly what McDonald’s has delivered,” Carrie Longton, co-founder of Mumsnet told Metro.co.uk."
Additionally, you can add various vegetables such as cucumber, onion, and pickle for free, with tomato costing a small extra fee. There are also options to swap fries for carrot sticks or fruit and a soft drink for organic milk or bottled water.
"“We’re thrilled to see a new product on the McDonald’s Happy Meal menu that Mumsnet users have played a fundamental role in developing,” said Longton."
The product has been under development for quite some time (about six months) and is available now — if you’re across the pond.
These developments are all a step in the right direction for healthier food options that are delivered in a way that kids will respond, but will these changes ever make it to the States?

Unfortunately, McDonald’s is mum on the word about if/when this might be made available to the customers in North America, though likely if it’s successful I can’t see why they wouldn’t institute something similar over here.
Currently, the only healthy options for the McDonald’s Happy Meals are apple slices or yogurt instead of fries. There is no grilled chicken option or even a fried chicken wrap. The only current protein options are hamburgers and chicken nuggets. There is also no organic milk option (right now it’s 1% Low Fat Milk) through US restaurants do offer organic Apple Juice.
