KFC Pickle Fried Chicken, would you take the taste test?

KFC has recently debuted a new menu item which will only be available for a limited time, the Pickle Fried Chicken, and food critics are raving for it.

Like every fast food chain, we have seen KFC roll out many limited time menu items over the years. Sandwiches such as the “Double Down,” a chicken sandwich in which the bun was also made of chicken, have had their time to shine on the KFC menu. But perhaps the newest addition to the menu is the most delicious one yet.

Recently, KFC released a specialty menu item for Pickle Fried Chicken.  As Forbes reports, it will only be available for a limited time, as participating locations will each only be given enough ingredients to “pickle sauce its chicken for a few weeks.” If you’re looking to take the taste test yourself, you’re going to have to do it soon.

All it needs is its great taste

What’s interesting about the Pickle Fried Chicken is that it came with no specialty marketing campaign. Of course, KFC has been putting out many ads on TV and in print featuring various celebrities portraying Colonel Sanders. So, why wasn’t there a commercial with, say, Bob Saget as the Colonel promoting some pickle-flavored chicken?

For this particular promotion, KFC is banking on taste alone. All they really did was announce the new food, and let the critics do the rest. The decision seems to be unanimous with all of the critics from major food publications, with them all praising the Pickle Fried Chicken. As the reviews have done a lot to create some buzz for the limited time item, there really must be something to the taste here that people should check out.

Prefer something spicier?

If you’re not a fan of pickles, then you may not like the Pickle Fried Chicken. But there’s another specialty item on the KFC menu you should try if you’re into spicy food. The Nashville Hot Chicken has been around for while longer and packs its own tasty punch. If that’s not something you’ve tried yet, do yourself a favor and do so soon. After you try the pickle chicken, of course.

Again, the KFC Pickle Fried Chicken will only be around for a few weeks at the most, depending on availability. Once the ingredients run out, they’re gone (and possibly forever).
