Would you buy it? A McDonald’s 6 year old cheeseburger and fries is up for sale and they look fairly decent considering their age.
This is no joke. A 6 year old McDonald’s cheeseburger and fries is currently up for sale and it can be yours for the great value price of $29.99. It’s being sold by a gentleman in Ontario, Canada so it will cost even less once you take into account the US – CDN exchange rate. Mind you, the postage might put it back up so just be careful.
Up on eBay, the McDonald’s cheeseburger and fries have been described as “stunningly good looking” and “decent.” Considering how old they are, the fact they haven’t been described as “old and unrecognizable” is surprising.

So far nobody has been brave enough to place a bid yet. Not that the owner, Dave Alexander, is worried. He told As It Happens that he is not worried. That he is sure someone will re-home his burger.
But why? Why do such a thing?
That is the big question.
Thankfully Dave explained why he has kept the McDonald’s cheeseburger and fries for so long and it is not as daft as it sounds. He had heard the urban legend about fast food lasting for years and years without decaying and wanted to see if it was true or not.
