IHOb is back to being IHOP again, that didn’t take long did something go wrong?
By Callum Gunn
IHOb is no longer IHOb, the pancake house/diner is back to calling itself IHOP again!
IHOP got a lot of attention last month after it changed its name from IHOP to IHOb. That change has been short lived as the pancake house has changed its name back to IHOP. So why the U-Turn? Did something go wrong?
Well the name change was never intended to last forever. They were always going to revert themselves back to IHOP, “International House of Pancakes,” eventually. Changing their name to IHOb was all a marketing campaign.

Back in June a new product was added to their menu, a burger. So, to celebrate and get people talking about the new menu item, they changed their name to IHOb, “International House of Burgers,” for a very brief time.
So it’s not that anything has gone wrong with the new name, it’s just the time for the marketing campaign to come to an end. This doesn’t mean that the burger will be coming off the menu. It will still be available to all who visit their local IHOP branch; we are just no longer calling them IHOb.

Just like last time however, people have taken to Twitter to have a bit of fun. Everyone, including well known burger chains, poked fun at the IHOP to IHOb name change and the same thing has happened now that the name has been reversed.
It’s not as fun as last time, but people have taken the chance while they can.
