McDonald’s: Which salads have been affected in the outbreak?

McDonald’s salads have been making people sick, but which McDonald’s salads are the culprits?

The news broke earlier in the week that McDonald’s salads have been making people sick. According to the U.S. Food and Drug Administration this was caused by the Cyclospora parasite. Foods which are contaminated with fecal matter can cause the parasite to transmit.

But which of McDonald’s salads are making people sick? Is it all of them? Or is it only certain salads on the menu that are the culprit.

Well McDonald’s have taken the, “better be safe rather than sorry” approach. Rather than identify any particular salad and remove just that particular salad, they decided to voluntarily remove all of the salads from the menu.

So we don’t actually know if it is a particular salad or if all of them where affected. You don’t have to worry about that though as McDonald’s have already done the hard work for you and removed them all.

Just as well too, a statement issued by the fast food chain stated that it is likely due to their salad blend supply. They stated that until they receive a new supplier for their salad blend, they will not be bringing salad back to the menu.

That therefore means this was an issue in the manufacturing process rather than something in the restaurant, so the range of products that could be affected is therefore wider. Investigations are still ongoing and details are still emerging but for now, McDonald’s have taken the right step and removed all salads.

This incident is limited to specific states. So if you are able to order a salad then you can rest easy that yours will not make you sick. If you can’t order any, then you now know why.
