McDonald’s: Which states are affected in the salad outbreak?
By Callum Gunn
People have been getting sick from eating tainted McDonald’s salads. Which U.S. states is this happening in?
McDonald’s have a problem with their salads right now. People have been getting sick from eating them. Caused by the Cyclopora parasite according to the U.S. Food and Drug Administration, McDonald’s have responded by removing salad from the menu.
This has only happened in specific U.S. states however. McDonald’s have removed the salads from approximately 3,000 restaurants across 14 different states. International restaurants have not been affected and not every state in the U.S. is affected.

And until a new supplier is found the McDonald’s restaurants affected in these states will not be selling salads. The fast food restaurant confirmed this in a statement that until they have a new supplier the salads will stay off the menu.
How long this may take is anybody’s guess really. Investigations are still ongoing with new information being released almost daily. It is one of those situations however that is better to be conducted slowly and thoroughly rather than rushed. The worst thing they could do is give the green light to sell salad again and then a week later be removing it because there was still tainted salad being sold.
