IHOP has opened up a new branch kitted out with a fully functioning bar; offering beer, wine, cocktails and more.

Do you want pancakes with your beer or beer with your pancakes? An odd question, but one you could be asked when visiting the very first IHOP branch with a fully functioning bar.

Coming straight from ABC 15 Arizona, the IHOP branch is located in Phoenix, and has only recently opened up to the public with a fully functioning bar. Making the branch the very first IHOP, excluding some airports, to offer alcohol as part of their menu.

Making them pretty much a fully functioning restaurant that everyone can visit.

They are of course famous for their pancakes, but the chains also offer burgers, and in this Phoenix branch, beer, wine, or whatever else takes your fancy.

It’s not just any sort of the alcohol they are offering either. Open from 6 a.m. to 10 p.m. every day, the bar menu is comprised of a selection of craft beers and wine. Cocktails are also available, such as the Mulemosa, the Blue Roof Blood Mary, the Frozen Rooty Rita and many more.

Whether we will see other IHOP branches follow suit remains to be seen. No doubt the head bosses at IHOP HQ will be waiting to see how this one of kind branch in Phoenix gets on, a statement from IHOP spokesperson Stephanie Peterson had the following to say about the unique branch.

"“Some of our most successful innovations over the last 60 years have started with our franchisees bringing ideas forward. In this instance, our Phoenix-area franchisee found a unique opportunity for the market and worked closely with the brand to incorporate a bar into a bold, new restaurant design while staying true to what guests love about IHOP.I’d also add that everything we do at IHOP is about flipping expectations. We’re constantly testing and refining ideas, trialing new menu items and experiences, so that we’re delivering on what our guests want. A special Rise N Shine Bar menu with brunch-inspired cocktails, craft beers and wine is available exclusively at the Camelback IHOP in Phoenix along with the full menu of IHOP favorites — from our Original Buttermilk Pancakes to Ultimate Steakburgers and everything in between.”"
