It’s Pumpkin Spice season and that means that even the breweries are getting in on the action. And Blue Point Brewery is no different, as they give us their Mother Pumpkin Ale.
There are some flavors that just scream Fall. From Pumpkin Spice to Apple Cider, there are some flavors that are simply too good to pass up when it comes to delicious foods and beverages. And at Blue Point Brewery they understand this.
In honor of the changing season, Blue Point decided that it was time to take inspiration from autumn on Long Island (where the brewery is located) and give their fans the Mother Pumpkin Ale. With a name like this, it is hard to deny that we want to know more. And luckily for us, Rob Capitelli, a Blue Point Brewmaster, had some answers for us.
Mother Pumpkin Ale truly embraces the flavors of Fall, using allspice, nutmeg, cinnamon, and ginger to help build its flavor profile. According to Capitelli, “These spicy characteristics take the lead in this roasty beer while the malty backbone adds to the tremendous depth of character.”

And while we are all about flavors and what a beer tastes like, there is more to Mother Pumpkin Ale than just its amazing flavor. We are talking about an ale that pairs well with turkey and pork, as well as the root vegetables common throughout the season. Plus, it is also designed to be baked with, which is why there is actually a recipe for Mother Pumpkin Ale Bread that was created in collaboration with a local bakery.
Considering Blue Point Brewery is clearly paying tribute to not only the season itself, but also the people of Long Island, it makes sense that Mother Pumpkin Ale would be a potential Fall favorite. From the warm flavors that remind you of cool weather and leaves changing color, to its ability to pair with all the best Fall foods, this is one beer you won’t want to miss this season.
