Remember the sandwich war that broke out in August when Popeyes released their “limited” chicken sandwich? It looks like the war is back on for November.
Popeyes is bringing back their infamous chicken sandwich this November, and with it comes a hiring spree that includes adding 400 new employees. And it turns out that the majority of those new hires will be dedicated specifically to actually making the chicken sandwiches that have been in such high demand.
According to MLive.com, even though we do not have an exact date for the release of the returning chicken sandwich, we do know it will arrive in early November (get ready now!). And their goal is dedicate two people per Popeyes location specifically to making the popular chicken sandwiches. That’s right, there will be people in each restaurant who are solely dedicated to making this sandwich for customers (cue the shocked emoji).
Considering what happened in August when Popeyes debuted their chicken sandwich, it makes sense that the fast food chain would want to be better prepared this time around. Not only did the arrival of their sandwich kick off a chicken sandwich war among the fast food places that offer them (even if the primary rival was clearly Chick-fil-A), but they were in such demand that the chain ran out. It got to a point where Popeyes was even telling customers to bring their own buns if they wanted a sandwich.

Well it’s time to get ready for another round of chicken sandwiches, as the company gears up to rerelease their shockingly popular new menu item. And with 400 new employees joining the Popeyes ranks, hopefully customers will see less of the problems they experienced the first time around.
According to Popeyes’ parent company, “We have been working diligently to bring the sandwich back to our restaurants soon, as we know our guests are anxiously anticipating its return.” And the fact that this means 400 new jobs is certainly an added bonus to fans of the fast food chain.
Whether or not the sandwich’s return will kick off a new war of the fast food restaurants remains to be seen, but we can’t wait to see what happens this time. Considering Popeyes appears to be doing everything they can to make sure that they have enough employees to make these chicken sandwiches, it looks like they may have figured out how to give their customers exactly what they want.
