It has been revealed what the most popular flavor of ice cream Blue Bell makes and some may find it shocking and a bit vanilla.

If you have a craving for a particular flavor of ice cream, odds are that someone, somewhere makes it. Ice cream flavors have gone from the basics of chocolate, vanilla and strawberry to more extreme flavors that pack as much stuff into a gallon as possible by law. Blue Bell Ice Cream is well aware of this and has always taken full advantage.

Blue Bell, makers of ice cream since the early 1900s, has always pushed the envelope when it comes to new flavors of ice cream. I mean, we’re talking about the company that claims to have invented Cookies and Cream ice cream, although a lot of people would dispute that.

So given just how many flavors of ice cream Blue Bell makes, the fact that their most popular flavor is something so simple and classic is a bit of a shock.

The most popular flavor of Blue Bell ice cream is homemade vanilla.

According to Mashed, the most popular flavor Blue Bell sells is classic Homemade Vanilla. Which might sound boring at first but given the amount of work that went into developing it, you would have to admit that vanilla deserves the accolades.

Homemade Vanilla took an astounding two years to develop and first went on sale in the late 1960s. Since then it has been an almost constant bestseller for the company. They proudly proclaim that the flavor is their most popular on their website and seem willing to throw down with anyone who would disagree.

Since Blue Bell ice cream is a somewhat regional ice cream company, there are likely a lot of people who would in fact disagree. If you live on the East Coast odds are you only know Blue Bell from their reputation alone. However, we don’t think anyone would be unwilling to at least give Homemade Vanilla a try. Pretty much everyone loves ice cream no matter who makes it.
