Shake Shack announces new Korean-inspired menu
By D. Goodman
Shake Shack has announced that they are adding a number of new items to their menu that all spotlight South Korean flavors.
If you have watched any food show over the last few years (and if you’re reading this we’re pretty sure you have) then you know that Korean flavors are all the rage. You would think Korean barbecue has become the de facto style of BBQ and the word Gochujang has seemingly become a key part of any foodie’s lexicon. And that apparently includes the folks at Shake Shack.
Shake Shack has decided that their menu was seriously lacking in Korean-inspired flavors and style. And really, who can blame them? I mean, the first thing we want to think of when I hear the words Shake Shack are Korean foods and flavors. Don’t you?

Shake Shack has an all new Korean menu that features fried chicken.
The fine foodies at Chewboom are reporting that the new Korean-inspired menu at Shake Shack will be available for a limited time and includes four new items that actually sound pretty good and if we’re being honest.
First up is Korean-style Fried Chick’n which includes a crispy chicken breast glazed with Gochujang sauce on top of white kimchi slaw and covered with toasted sesame seeds. Next up is Korean-style Gochujang Chick’n Bites which are crispy, white meat chicken bites served with a Gochujang mayo sauce. That is followed be Korean-style Gochujang Fries which are french fries served with Gochujang mayo sauce.
And in case you were wondering, yes that is a whole lot of Gochujang.
Since you need something to wash all that down, you can try the new Black Sugar Vanilla Shake. It features toasty-caramel black sugar with vanilla frozen custard, all topped with whipped cream and black sugar syrup.
While that might not exactly be Korean-inspired, it still sounds darn good to us.
The new Shake Shack Korean-inspired menu is currently available at all their locations in the U.S. and will be until April 5. So that gives you more than enough time to get your Gochujang on.
