DW Home Candles dessert-inspired collection is a must-have
Candles that smell like food aren’t exactly new anymore, but that doesn’t make them any less amazing. You can have your house smell like cake without having to actually bake a cake. How cool is that?
But it can be hard to know what brand of candles to pick. Some smell like the real thing while others smell…less than great. When DW Home Candles reached out and offered me a sample of two of their candles, I hoped it was the former and not the latter.

I received two flavors: maple pancakes and pumpkin cheesecake. As soon as I opened the box, I could already smell pancakes. Maple, carby, syrupy goodness. I hadn’t even unwrapped them yet!
Once I opened the maple pancake candle, the smell was even stronger. It reminds me of Sunday breakfasts, dipping bacon in syrup, shoving pancakes into my mouth, and delicious carbs. My hands almost felt sticky just from the smell alone.
DW Home Candles are a must for every foodie in your life
Then I opened the pumpkin cheesecake scent. it’s much subtler but still smells really good. It has a pumpkin scent, but there’s also cinnamon, cream cheese, and sugar in there as well. YUM!
But what about when you light them? Sometimes, when you light a candle, the smell either gets stronger or you can’t smell it at all.
The pumpkin cheesecake definitely gets stronger but it’s still nice. The sugary, cream cheese smell comes out more as does the cinnamon. The pumpkin gets a little softer, but it’s definitely still there. It’s like pumpkin bars with cream cheese icing. Or the perfect pumpkin dessert on Thanksgiving. It’s like the perfect fall day.
When lit, the maple pancakes candle smelled just as strong as when I opened it. If you want your house to smell like you made a big breakfast even when you just had a bowl of Lucky Charms or a piece of toast, this is the candle for you. It’s like heaven. It’s like a full belly and a warm blanket. You want both of these.
The maple pancake candle is 15.3 ounces, has two wicks, and is currently $18 on the DW Home Candle website. The pumpkin cheesecake candle is 15.1 ounces, has two wicks, and is also $18.
If these flavors aren’t your cup of tea, DW Home Candles have a ton of others including birthday cake, juicy red mango, and warm apple cider that comes in a container shaped like a coffee-to-go cup. I will definitely be getting more of these!
