Easter 2022 is just a few days away, folks! Whether you have kids or just love filling Easter Baskets, stay tuned in because we’ll be diving pretty deep into the top 10 tips for filling it the best, whether that means which candies to choose or which decorations to use within it!
Easter Baskets are the most special part of Easter itself. Decorations, getting Easter grass literally everywhere, filling eggs with the best candies and eating the leftover bags. Easter is awesome!
What are your personal favorite Easter candies and chocolates?
How do you fill your Easter Baskets? Tell us your plans for this year and beyond!
1. Choose your basket and lay down a foundation.
Baskets, baskets, and even more baskets make their presence known on the shelves of many grocery and convenience stores alike. The Dollar (.25) Store has some pretty great options from really big ones and smaller ones for a bit of a lighter basket. After you’ve chosen your basket, choose your favorite Easter grass and lay your foundation, perfect for hiding tiny candies in and laying your plastic Easter eggs into for kids and adults to hunt for!
2. Add non-candy items in there as well.
Easter Baskets aren’t just about the candy, y’all! Just like the tiny toys inside of Kinder Bueno Eggs, find tiny little toys like that and add that into the eggs for some variety and fun.
3. Use these chocolates as fillers.
Here are my personal top 3 favorite chocolates to both give and receive on Easter:
- White Chocolate Reese’s Peanut Butter Eggs
- Mini Robin’s Eggs (in the carton)
- M & M’s – try the Crunchy Cookie or Honey Graham flavors
4. Use these candies as fillers.
Here are my personal top 3 favorite candies to both give and receive on Easter:
- Starburst Jelly Beans
- Haribo Happy Hoppers (plenty of other Easter-themed shapes as well)
- Peeps – duh
5. Make a budget per person – and actually stick to it.
You don’t necessarily have to do this, however, it is a good option to at least think about because, guess what? It’s your life and you get to make it whatever you want! If you’ve got multiple kids, then you might wanna consider, at least making a tiny little budget per kid, per basket. If not, then just at least try to go to the store with some sort of an idea of what you wanna spend. It’ll help!
6. Cater your basket to the receiving person.
Does your person like sports? Are they into video games? How about princesses? Do they like unicorns and/or mermaids? Whatever the receiving person may like, add items in there, be it shaped candies of their favorite animals/characters, or clothing or fun activity/clothing pieces, do it for them, make their day, and they are certain to smile from ear-to-ear!
7. Add in some fake flowers to fill the gaps.
I’ve never really heard of this one anywhere before, I just kind of thought about it on my own. Whether they’re small little flowers or big roses, use some foam pieces at the bottom and stick the plastic little stems at the bottom so they are not to move and get messed up! Beautiful!
8. Place puzzle pieces in eggs for a fun afterwards activity.
Don’t want the fun to end as soon as all of the eggs are found? Try adding in some puzzle pieces into the eggs and scatter them! That way, once all of the eggs are found and all of the puzzle pieces are collected, the fun doesn’t have to stop and the kids and/or adults can put a fun little puzzle together to keep the fun going…together!
9. Add in clothing and accessories, maybe to even wear later that day.
As far as kids go, especially the super little ones, tiny little shoes and outfits will fit perfectly into the basket. As far as adults go, try adding in some jewelry or accessories, headphones, airpods, etc. So that they can enjoy whatever they want post-Easter.
10. Fill the eggs with other snacks besides sweets.
Forget filling all of the plastic little Easter eggs with candy, try filling it with other delicious snacks, such as Goldfish, Pretzels, or other things like that. However, candies and chocolates are still good options, but sometimes, our gums hurt and we all just need a little salty snack in our lives!
