Who asked for Chips Ahoy! to make Sour Patch Kids cookies?
Sour Patch Kids and Chips Ahoy! cookies is not a combination anyone ever thought they’d see at the grocery store. And yet, here we are!
Some food combinations are classics. Mac and cheese. Chocolate and peanut butter. Cookies and cream. But sometimes two foods go together that you’d never think of. Bacon and chocolate. Peanut butter and sriracha. Strawberries and balsamic vinegar. Chips Ahoy! Limited Edition Sour Patch Kids cookies are neither of these.
A cookie with Sour Patch Kids in it…why? Who asked for this and how can we get into contact with them to ask them about their thought process? A crunchy cookie with sour candy in it…in what alternative universe does this work? And for goodness sake, if you buy these when they come out next year, please do not dunk them in milk!

According to Carb Cadet on Instagram, they aren’t horrible but how is that possible? I LOVE Sour Patch Kids. They are my favorite candy. When I get a box, I eat the whole thing in one sitting. But putting that flavor inside of a cookie? This crosses the line into gross and weird.
Based on the pictures, it doesn’t look like Chips Ahoy! took the candy as is and baked it into a cookie. It looks like they made Sour Patch Kids-flavored chips. While that is definitely better than the gummy candy being in the cookie, it still is a bit cringe-worth.
If you’re going to mix sour candy with a cookie, it’s for decoration, not for the inside. But if you have an adventurous palate and want to give these a try, they should be out next year although there isn’t a official release date. Hopefully, they’ll be available worldwide so we can all discuss our like and dislike of these on social media.
Are you going to try cookies when they come out? Or will you be staying as far away from them as possible? Let us know in the comments below?
