Chipotle wants to make it even easier for people to get their burrito fixes, as they test out walk-up windows in select locations.
Don’t own a car, don’t want to go inside, or maybe you just don’t like drive-thrus? Well Chipotle is offering a solution when it comes to ordering your burritos.
According to Delish, Chipotle is introducing a new feature in locations. Select locations will have a walk-up window where customers can pick up their orders that they placed online.
This news comes just as the company announces that they are planning on expanding their Chipotlanes, the drive-up windows they recently started testing. It is expected that the number of locations that will have a Chipotlane could increase to around 60 by the end of the year. And that is definitely exciting news for people who don’t want to get out of their car.

But the real news is these walk-up windows. This sounds like a great way to get your order fast, especially if you don’t actually have to go inside.
While some locations are already utilizing shelves in their store for online orders, that allows you to walk in, grab your order, and go, the new walk-up window idea means you don’t actually have to face a horde of people if you don’t want to.
As an added bonus, the walk-up window also means not having to sift through other people’s orders to get your own (depending on how many online orders the store has received at the time).
While I love watching the people at Chipotle make my bowl right in front of me, there are times when I would rather grab and go, and this new feature could be exactly what I need to make that happen.
