Cheerios is a cereal loved by both children and adults. Well, General Mills knows so they’ve brought a new Cheerios flavor to life, as well as resurrected an old crowd favorite flavor!

Way back on May 1, 1941, CheeriOats were first introduced by General Mills. The name was quickly shortened to Cheerios just four years later in 1945. The first flavor to be introduced apart from the original was Cinnamon Nut Cheerios in 1976, but since then, that flavor can’t really be seen many places. Ready for new Cheerios?

In today’s time, General Mills has decided that they need to bring back that familiar cinnamon Cheerios taste with the brand new Cinnamon Cheerios, as well as bring back another fan-favorite flavor, Banana Nut Cheerios.

Just to put everything into a bit of perspective (as of April 27, 2020), as courtesy of Cheerios‘ website, here are all of the current flavors (20 to be exact) that Cheerios has to offer: Toasted coconut, blueberry, maple, cinnamon oat crunch, peach, original, honey nut, multi grain, apple cinnamon, chocolate, fruity, frosted, banana nut, oat crunch oats and honey, chocolate peanut butter, cinnamon, honey nut medley crunch, honey nut treats cereal breakfast bars, pumpkin spice, and very berry.

WOW, what a mouthful!

Back to the new Cheerios flavors here. While the brand new Cinnamon is available, General Mills did mention that they’d be more widely available in June of 2020 (so, later on this summer). The boxes will retail for about $3.99 a box (regular sized) and $4.99 a box (family sized).

Of course, back by popular demand and being a HUGE fan-favorite here, the Banana Nut  will retail for the same amount per each different sized box. Banana Nut will be widely available starting next month (May 2020)!

Here’s a cool little fact about the Banana Nut flavor variety:

  • They’re made with 100% whole grains/oats
  • They’re made with a combination of real banana puree and cinnamon

Both of these varieties of Cheerios will be more widely available within the next upcoming month or two, so if you’re interested, definitely stop by your local grocery store (or wherever you purchase your groceries from) and pick up a box of each!

As always, Cheerios are made to be heart-healthy all while being one of the most delicious breakfasts, again, for both kids AND adults alike!

Hot. Tacograms anyone? Well, you're in LUCK because an El Paso Taco joint is giving you just that!. light

Let us know what your favorite variety is and if you think another retired flavor should be brought back to life (let General Mills know what you think as well, of course)! We’d love to know!
