TikTok user uses Ritz cracker to cut cheese for quick snack

TikTok is an odd place. People are making mini chocolate chips for cereal, they’re trying out different kitchen hacks, they’re dancing, and now, they are cutting cheese with the side of a Ritz cracker. Yes, you read that right. A TikTok user has discovered Ritz cracker are not just for a delicious snack. The ridges can also be used to slice cheese.

TheRealNobody30 posted a video of them using the side of the Ritz cracker to cut cheese into perfect squares for cheese and crackers. This can also be achieved using a butter knife or probably your thumb nail.

But if you have nothing else and you’re dying for some buttery crackers and cheese, the edges of the Ritz can be your knife. If nothing else, you don’t have to clean a knife or another utensil after you’re done whipping up your snack.

There are a few issues with this process, though. One is that the cheese needs to already be sliced or at least in small cubes. You’re not going to cut a block of cheese or even a thick slice with a cracker. It will break.

You also have to have the right kind of cheese. This might work on Kraft Singles or a pre-sliced cheddar or swiss, but it’s not going to work on a hard chunk of Parmesan or even a soft ball of mozzarella. In the video, it looks like they’re either using an already sliced piece of cheddar or a part of a Kraft single. While a dull knife might be able to go through just about any cheese, a Ritz cracker is not that durable.

While this is definitely a fun experiment and an interesting discovery of what you can do with the ridges of a Ritz cracker, it can really only work for specific situations. Although, if this becomes a life hack trend on TikTok, who am I to judge? At least we moved on from the Tide Pods debacle.
