Dunkin’ embraces Christmas in July with new TV ad
By D. Goodman
It turns out that folks who are obsessed with the holidays and home shopping networks aren’t the only people who get excited for Christmas in July. As the tradition continues to grow, more and more companies are also embracing the idea, such as Dunkin‘.
Everyone knows how good Dunkin’ coffee is. You can keep your Starbucks and fancy brews as far as I’m concerned. Just give me a large hot Dunkin’ coffee with cream and sugar and I’m a pretty happy guy. And I’m not the only person who evidently feels this way.
If a new Dunkin’ television ad is to be believed, the jolly fat man who hangs out with reindeer is also a huge fan of the beverage.
See for yourself:
Dunkin’ goes for the funny with their Christmas in July ad.

The 30-second ad sees a young couple having to deal with the ramifications of leaving Santa Claus a cup of Dunkin’ coffee along with the cookies on Christmas Eve. It’s now July and he is still there, enjoying the hell out of his coffee and in no hurry to make for the North Pole.
It’s a really funny ad that works on a lot of levels. Not the least of which is just how good Dunkin’ coffee is. Throw in the whole Christmas in July angle of it all and you have a real winner.
Will we be seeing more and more Christmas in July ads in the future? One can only hope. Unlike traditional holiday ads they can be way funnier and not take themselves nearly as seriously. Congratulations to Dunkin’ for making one of the best I’ve seen this year.
