The Best Things We Ate This Week: Popeyes Wings, Starbucks Popping Boba Drinks and more
This week at Guilty Eats, we tried a wide array of food and drinks. There were overall menus, like what we tested out at Baskin-Robbins, thanks to their IF tie-in flavors. And Starbucks launched their Summer menu with the belated popping pearls.
But it was the individual items that stood out, from us trying Popeye’s Honey Lemon Pepper Wings way later than everyone else, or missing Star Wars Day but falling in love with TRUFF’s incredible Star Wars Dark Side Hot Sauce anyway.
In case you missed any of our food reviews this week, though, we’ve got a roundup below! And you can click on each link to head to the full review!
Baskin-Robbins X IF Menu
The ice cream purveyor and John Krasinski’s upcoming movie team up for an inspired menu of two flavors. One is good, the other not so much, but with some cute Creature Creations along for the ride this is a great choice for ice cream after you see the movie.
Sonic Orange Cloudsicle Slush Float
It’s a slush. It’s a float. It’s got popping bubbles. And whipped cream! And it’s gonna take you right back to your childhood.
Starbucks Summer Menu
The new Starbucks summer menu is here, and just like above it’s brought popping boba with it. While that might not be the draw they think it is, the Refreshers are still pretty good – particularly the Summer Skies Drink, which tastes like a melted coconut popsicle.
Jif Peanut Butter & Chocolate Spread
Of course this is good – it’s chocolate and peanut butter – but it’s still a surprisingly smooth spread that goes great with apples, pretzels, or just digging in with a spoon.
Popeyes Honey Lemon Pepper Wings
Popeyes has already moved on to their next flavor iterations, but if you can, do not miss the Honey Lemon Pepper Wings. We did, and we feel bad it took this long to try ‘em.
TRUFF Star Wars Dark Side Hot Sauce
Not only a fantastic hot sauce that brings the heat and is a little bit sweet, along with a whiff of black truffles, but an incredible collectible, too, thanks to a Star Wars keepsake box, and a bottle featuring Darth Vader’s head as the cap.
Reese’s Medals
The latest shape from Reese’s won’t be winning the gold any time soon, but per the above: it’s chocolate and peanut butter. You know it tastes good.
