Cold Stone Creamery brings back black Boo Batter ice cream

What a better way to get in the spooky spirit than with some ice cream? The weather may be getting colder in some places, but there is never a bad time for ice cream and if you’re looking for a Halloween-themed treat, Cold Stone Creamery has you covered. They have brought back their Boo Batter black ice cream along with their No Tricks, Just Treats Signature Creation.

Unlike other black ice creams you’ve probably seen, Cold Stone Creamery’s Boo Batter is not made with activated charcoal but is simply dyed with black food coloring. This is great since activated charcoal can soak up certain medications so they don’t go into your digestive system.

Obviously, if you’re taking an important medication, this wouldn’t be something you’d want to occur. While most food doesn’t have enough activated charcoal to do much damage, it’s better to be safe than sorry. With Cold Stones black ice cream, you don’t need to worry!

But let’s get back to the ice cream! The Boo Batter flavor is simply the ice cream shop’s classic cake batter just with a darker hue. It’s the No Trick, Just Treats creation that really changes this ice cream from simply black into the perfect Halloween treat.

Along with the Boo Batter, they mix in Kit Kats, Halloween Oreo cookies (the ones with the orange cream), and M&Ms. It’s like a trick-or-treater’s fever dream.

If you want to kick up the Halloween vibes a notch or two, Cold Stone also has black and orange waffle cones and bowls. So you can either have an all-black witchy ice cream or a classic orange and black one.

Like last year, this signature creation and ice cream will only be available until the end of October, so get it while you can. Once November hits, the Boo Batter goes back to simply being their normal white cake batter flavor.
